Ham Radio and other things

In ISS news.

William Mcaurthur has been real active on voice During his LUNCH time on the International Space Station. Although this time falls around 7 am USA central time which as time goes by will not allow him to make USA contacts as the orbit of the ISS changes everyday. So, unless you like listening to EVERY pass or send/ recieving packet thats about all your going to hear. I sent out for a ISS qsl card last saturday and anixously awaiting its arrival.


Grandmas funeral update:

The funeral for Granda ma LOLA " Lola Mae Monroe Portenier" as it was listed went well as far as i could tell. 6 of us grandsons were Paulberrers Myself, Dean shotsman, Davis shotsman, Scott, Uncle franks' 2 boys......( sorry im not sure of their names I think one of their name is also Scott ). Here is what the obitaries read

Lola Mae Monroe Portenier, 83, Lincoln, died Saturday (10/22/05). Born, March 2, 1922, Norcatur, Kan., to Jesse and Lizzie E. Bowman. Member, Piedmont Park Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Lincoln; Ladies Auxiliary 1273; Lancaster Manor Bell Choir.Survivors: daughter, Maxine White, Gering; sons, Donald L. Callaway, Topeka, Kan., Franklin A. Callaway, Pratt, Kan.; daughters, Lola Marie Schwerin, Surprise, Betty Tendrich, Ruth Shotsman, both Lincoln; son, Steven A. Hurricane season is well past its peak.. and yet we have another Category3 + Hurricane going through Flordia at 5am CDT . Rons brother Donald and his wife decided to ride it out.. and now 16 hours after it hit guess what NO POWER for millions in Florida they are saying it could be weeks till all power is restored.

Grandma Lola Monroe passed away Sunday october 23 at 1:05 pm and her funeral is set for Wednesday October 26, at 10:00 am Im to be a Paulberrer ( if i even spelled that correctly). It really didnt effect me as i have anticipated it for quite a while plus i was not " that close" to my granda as most people would like to think they are. Life has just been way to busy with a wife step kids and a 2 year old.

Ham radio.... well i sent in a request card to ARRL headquarters in Newington Connecut and im guessing itll take about a month till i get one in the mail. I had a small voice QSO with William Mcaurthr NA1SS on Friday th 21st of october around 720 am .

The 1st Blog wow what a name for a text and picture posting webpage.

well in this BLOG... i intend to use it to publish some pictures of my self and family and our activites... Also to inform others and display to others about Ham radio and the ARISS ( ametur radio on the International Space Station ).
